The Stanford Health Communication Initiative is an interdisciplinary effort bringing together experts in social media, psychology, theater arts, business, and medicine, from across Stanford University and around the world.
We are housed within the Stanford Center for Health Education, which produces and disseminates world-class health education to a global network of communities and healthcare providers through professional programs and the Digital Medic initiative.
We work in close collaboration with the Stanford Graduate School of Business, leveraging expertise from the greatest minds in business communication, and the Department of Theater and Performance Studies, to develop innovative techniques for advanced communication training.
We also work with peer schools, including the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, partnering to train scientists and healthcare providers. Our CME courses equip providers and scientists with toolkits for working with journalists and translating technical language into compelling stories for lay audiences. Our Paths to Publishing trainings help scientists launch public-facing projects such as blogs, op-eds, podcasts, films and books.
